About Joel
I will tutor English in two areas:
(1) English grammar, vocabulary and composition at all levels above middle school. I am a former Peace Corps Volunteer who taught English as a foreign language in a state-run Middle School in the Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa. I also can offer specialized instruction in compositions designed for essays, proposals, reports, and other presentations.
(2) Business English to adult learners and professionals from Francophone, Arab-speaking and from the Orient, especially from Vietnam. My background, after earning a Masters in Business Administration from top-rated University of Chicago, includes roles as VP in Corporate Banking, specializing in new business development for major international banks. Later I consulted to leading international foreign aid donor agencies while working abroad in different countries on economic growth themes. This work focused on improving consultant, banking and business management skills. ***************************
Precise and persuasive speech is essential to the formal classroom teacher, new business development officer, or project consultant abroad. I also read, write and speak French fluently and remain conversant in basic, non-technical Arabic and Vietnamese.
