About Franky
I love to help people learn and watch them get through their math struggles. It can be such a frustrating subject, but so incredibly rewarding to understand and apply it in real life. For example, I own a small design agency and am an artist, designer and photographer now where I continue to apply math in my daily work to create unique and precise art.
I graduated top of my class (magna cum laude) at Univ of TN as a mechanical engineer where I excelled at math and other technical engineering courses, like thermodynamics. Before college, my friend's dad asked if I could help his daughter with the SATs and a math course she was failing. We brought her grades up to A's and she also did well on the SAT math section. I discovered I was good at math tutoring and continued to be a freelance tutor in college helping failing students succeed in not just getting good grades, but truly understanding the subject.

I've been a successful tutor because I'm creative and don't give up. People all learn in different ways, so it takes patience and usually multiple attempts at explaining things from different angles for people to truly understand math. My approach is straight forward - We'll work through your homework, quizzes and tests together until we solve the problems and you understand how to do them on your own. Both of us will prepare by doing it by ourselves beforehand.
Lessons are for high-school and college level math courses.
I think the biggest edge I have as a tutor is that I'm great at math, but I'm not your typical engineer. I'm a professional artist, get along well with just about anyone and have creative and social skills that most math people do not have. That makes me a very unique, perhaps even fun teacher in a technical, potentially boring subject.
