About Piero
I am a mechanical engineering student with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics, developed through both coursework and teaching experience. My studies have required consistent problem-solving across Calculus I-III and Physics I-III, giving me a solid grasp of the concepts students commonly find challenging.
Through my experience as a student ambassador, I've developed a natural ability to explain technical material in a clear, concise, and approachable way. I understand how challenging math and physics can feel, especially when concepts start to build on one another, and I work to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable learning and making mistakes.
I am currently a Teaching Assistant for Physics II, where I support students by clarifying lecture material, walking through problem-solving strategies, and reinforcing key concepts during recitations. This role has given me direct experience identifying common misunderstandings and helping students overcome them efficiently.
As an engineering student actively working with these subjects, I understand both the academic expectations and the learning curve involved. I use this perspective to help students approach math and physics with confidence and a clearer sense of direction.

As a tutor, my goal is to inspire curiosity and guide students toward a genuine understanding of the material. I help students build strong intuition by focusing on core fundamentals and clearly explaining each step before moving on to more advanced concepts. This approach allows students to not only solve problems, but understand why the solution works.
A typical lesson begins by identifying which concepts feel unclear or overwhelming. From there, I break problems down step-by-step, walk through examples together. and then guide students as they practice on their own. I encourage questions throughout the session and adjust the pace to match each student's comfort level, ensuring they leave feeling confident and prepared.
I tutor high school mathematics, Calculus I-III, and introductory Physics courses. My lessons are well-suited for high school and early college students who want clearer explanations, stronger fundamentals, and a more intuitive approach to problem-solving.
