About Shiwei
I am a Mechanics PhD and academic researcher with experience in computational mechanics, fluid-structure interaction, fracture mechanics, molecular dynamics (MD), density functional theory (DFT), and engineering mathematics. I have mentored postgraduate students and supported research training, so I understand both exam preparation and university-level STEM learning.
My teaching style is patient, structured, and problem-focused. I help students understand the reasoning behind formulae, connect abstract concepts with real engineering and physics examples, and develop confidence through guided practice. I can support GCSE, A level, undergraduate, and postgraduate learners in maths, physics, mechanics, computational mechanics, molecular simulation, density functional theory (DFT), and related engineering subjects.

I teach maths, physics, and engineering mechanics with a clear, structured, and problem-based approach. I first identify each student’s current level, difficulties, and learning goals, then explain key concepts step by step using examples, diagrams, and guided problem solving.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I can also offer 90-minute sessions for exam preparation or university-level topics. I hold a PhD in Mechanics and have research and mentoring experience in computational mechanics, fluid-structure interaction, fracture mechanics, and materials modelling.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE, A level, undergraduate students, and learners who need support in mathematics, physics, mechanics, engineering mathematics, or related STEM subjects. I focus on building both conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving confidence.
