About Iman
Hi! I’m Iman, a friendly and enthusiastic Medicine student with a passion for helping others achieve their academic goals. Having achieved 9s in GCSEs, top grades in A-level and scoring as the top 10% in UCAT, I understand exactly what exam boards are looking for and how to study smart, not just hard.
I specialise in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics, A-level Biology and Chemistry alongside supporting students in UCAT prep.
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student. From my experience, focusing on the weaker topics is the best way to boost academic understanding and performance. I break down complex topics into simple, clear explanations and use active recall, exam-style questions, and step-by-step guidance to build both confidence and understanding. Having taught several students before, I believe no question is a silly question, and I aim to create a comfortable space where students feel confident asking for help.

As a medicine student with past online tutoring experience, I focus on creating structured, supportive lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I work with my student to identify areas of difficulty and then break down those complex topics into clear, manageable steps. My teaching incorporates active learning through practice questions, exam-style problems, and knowledge checks to boost understanding, build confidence and improve exam technique.
For GCSE and A-level students, I align lessons closely with the exam board specification to ensure students understand both the content and how to apply it in exams. I help students understand exam boards expectations and how to apply this knowledge to structure their answers effectively. I use visual explanations, worked examples, and step-by-step problem solving to make difficult concepts easier to understand.
For UCAT, we’ll work through questions together, talk through the reasoning behind each answer, identify exactly where marks are being lost, and gradually develop strategies that work specifically for you.
I also place a big emphasis on reviewing mistakes. Rather than simply moving on after getting a question wrong, we’ll ask why it went wrong and know how to avoid repeating it.
Lessons usually last 60 minutes, though sessions can be adapted depending the students requirements and preference. Each lesson usually includes a review of previous work, teaching of new material, and exam practice to reinforce learning.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE students studying sciences and maths, A-level students studying Biology and chemistry and UCAT. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and develop confidence in their abilities.
