About Naz
If you're ready to make progress and learn in a supportive, tailored environment, I’m here to help you succeed!
With a B.A in Psychology, behavioural science, and history from McGill University, and a M.A in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, I bring a well-rounded academic background to my tutoring. As a tutor with a deep understanding of both the academic and emotional aspects of learning, I am committed to helping students achieve their full potential. With years of experience in tutoring math, science, English, and psychology, I tailor my teaching methods to fit each student's unique learning style. Whether you need help mastering new concepts or boosting your confidence before exams, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
My profession as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) gives me a unique advantage in understanding the challenges students face, both academically and personally. This allows me to adjust my approach based on your needs, ensuring that you not only understand the material but also feel supported throughout the process. I specialize in working with students of all levels, including those with learning disabilities or cognitive challenges, so I am well-equipped to provide the personalized support you need to succeed.
In every session, I prioritize creating a relaxed yet focused environment where you can ask questions, deepen your understanding, and build confidence in your abilities. My goal is to make learning accessible and enjoyable by breaking down complex topics into easy-to-understand explanations using creative examples, patterns, and even a bit of humour.

I take a patient, student-centered approach to tutoring, ensuring that the material is easy to understand and retain. I explain concepts using memorable methods like patterns, humorous phrases, and creative examples to make the learning process enjoyable and effective. While I maintain a laid-back attitude, I am focused and keep sessions on track, avoiding any distractions or off-topic discussions. My teaching style is guided by the student's needs—whether that’s addressing specific questions, quizzing them to check comprehension, or having them explain their reasoning to reinforce understanding.
A typical lesson begins with asking the student if they have any questions. From there, we’ll review their homework, course materials, or any particular areas of difficulty, working through problems until they fully understand the content. If the student is open to it, I assign additional practice to help reinforce what they’ve learned.
What sets me apart is my background in psychology and my work as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). This allows me to adjust my approach based on each student’s unique learning style and emotional needs. I’m highly attuned to how students feel about their learning journey, and I adjust the pace or teaching style accordingly. This is especially important when working with students who have learning disabilities or cognitive challenges, as I have the experience to help them navigate those difficulties effectively.
I primarily tutor math for elementary and high school students, psychology for high school and university students, as well as science and English for elementary students. My goal is always to help students truly understand the material, rather than simply memorizing it, so they can apply their knowledge with confidence.

Naz has such a kind soul. She’s tutored my son in math and English for over a year now and we just love her!! She’s always willing to adjust her schedule to help us out and has had a huge impact on my son’s grades in school. We adore her and I'm sure you will as well.
Naz is a great tutor and an incredibly patient person! She works with my daughter who has ADHD and is always able to keep her engaged so that she completes her math, geography, and science homework. I am so grateful for all of her help in making my daughter feel more confident in herself and boosting her grades in math.
