As a math tutor, my goal is to make mathematics clear, logical, and approachable for every student. I focus on building strong foundational understanding rather than just memorizing formulas. When students truly understand the “why” behind the steps, their confidence and performance improve naturally.
My teaching method is structured but flexible. I first assess the student’s current level and identify any gaps in understanding. From there, I break down concepts step-by-step, using simple explanations, real examples, and guided practice. I encourage students to ask questions and explain concepts back to me to make sure they truly understand the material. I also focus on problem-solving strategies so students can approach new problems independently.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material or homework questions. Then, I introduce or review the main concept of the day, working through examples together. After that, the student practices similar problems with my support. We finish by summarizing key ideas and identifying areas to focus on before the next session.
What sets me apart is that I have completed math courses all the way through Calculus II and am currently attending college, so I understand both high school and early college-level expectations. I also remember what it’s like to struggle with challenging math topics, which helps me explain concepts in a relatable and patient way. I focus not only on improving grades but also on building confidence and independent thinking.
My lessons are ideal for middle school students, high school students (Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus), and college students taking introductory math courses. I can help with homework support, test preparation, strengthening foundational skills, or preparing for advanced math classes.
