About Francesca
Hi! My name is Francesca and I am a 22-year-old biologist with a passion for plants and the environment. I thoroughly enjoy learning about biology and teaching people what I discover. I have previous experience in tutoring GCSE, IB, and university students for a total of 6+ years, and I look forward to continuing my teaching career.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred. I believe in active learning and promoting critical thinking. I begin my tutoring by assessing the student's current knowledge and learning style. This helps me create a personalised learning plan. We then set clear learning objectives for each session. The learning is interactive: I encourage active participation through discussions, problem-solving, and hands-on activities relevant to the subject matter. We go through a lot of past papers and make sure the student is ready to perform in an exam. A typical session will last between 1-2 hours, depending on the student's concentration span, preferences, and the urgency of the session. I hold a Master's degree in biology from Imperial College London (distinction), and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from University of Bristol (first class with honours). I have 6+ years' experience in biology tutoring, working with students ranging from 11 - 20 years old. I specialise my tutoring sessions in Biology for students studying IB DP, but I also offer tutoring for students of various levels, from elementary school to college and university.
