About Gabriela
I am an 18 musician with a broad musical background. Beginning with the guitar at the age of 8, I branched off into orchestral instruments including flute and clarinet, but primarily Alto Saxophone and Bassoon. I performed in New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall three times with the Honors Performance Series Orchestra and continue to be invited to join their tours. Music has made an immense difference in my life and I want to be able to share that with others. My college major is Psychology with an emphasis on Music Therapy. I focus my outreach towards children in need such as refugees or youth living in abusive/drug addicted households. My outreach consists of private and group music instruction, giving me a great deal of experience working with children.

I base my teaching on the Japanese Suzuki Method. Very similar to that of learning a language, repetition and memory are key, especially when dealing with young children that have a heightened ability to absorb information. I also encourage parental involvement through motivation and support, as well as combined lessons. This allows not only a more holistic learning experience but also spiritual and emotional bonding. I believe music should become a part of each and every one of us and encourage it for all.
