About Jason
Hi, I’m Jason. I hold a degree in Popular Music and have over 25 years’ experience playing, writing and teaching guitar. I specialise in rock and metal styles and teach a wide range of techniques including alternate picking, sweep picking, legato, tapping, economy picking, rhythm precision, improvisation and tone development.
I’ve worked as a professional musician and educator in both the UK and China, spending over 10 years teaching and performing internationally. I’m now based in Cardiff, Wales, and also run Grenade Guitar, an online guitar accessories brand. My lessons are structured, encouraging and fully personalised to help students progress with confidence, musicality and real-world playing skills.

My lessons focus on rock and metal guitar, drawing on over 25 years’ experience as a professional performer and educator. I teach techniques and styles inspired by artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Lessons are structured yet flexible, combining technique, musicality, tone, theory and confidence-building, and are always tailored to the individual student’s level, goals and musical interests.
