About Gonzalo
My name is Gonzalo Schaps! I am a 23-year-old student at the University of Miami, originally from Miami, Florida. I believe that everyone has a calling in their life. No matter what it be. Hi there! My teaching methods are very simple. Cater to the strengths and interests of my students. Music Theory can be a very meticulous study, however, I believe approaching it from the context of our musical interests ignites a passion. Personally, I found this passion through studying jazz chords in various hip-hop albums, while of course studying my fair share of Bach and Mozart. I always try to find how our modern music connects to those greats of the past. I intend to create a fun learning environment for people of all ages. From piano lessons, voice lessons, and preparing students for the AP Music Theory Test.

Hi I’m Riza, an artist with a passion for writing songs, singing, and playing piano. Gonzalo is a really cool teacher if you’re looking to sharpen your music theory skills, from literally any level —basic to advanced. Gonzalo has also given me tips on how to improve my original songs using interesting chords and transitions as I write.
Gonzalo is the best!Gonzalo is a super knowledgeable and resourceful guy! He understands exactly how to explain things and is extremely patient. If you need a tutor HIT HIM UP! You won't regret it. I went through several teachers on this platform to help tutor me on these advanced music theory concepts and only Gonzalo was able to explain!
