About Soonrita
I have been a devoted learner of Indian classical vocal music for the past 16 years under the guidance of Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty. Also, I have a musical family background. I started giving out private music lessons when I was in my second year of college. I teach my students with the help of the unique "Shrutinandan method" designed by Guruji Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. I have performed in many prestigious platforms within Kolkata and have been the recipient of the prestigious NCPA scholarship, along with being winner of several music competitions.

I focus on making my classes very methodical. Hindustani classical music is a vast subject with complex details of sur, swar, taal, and laya. I emphasize in-depth learning of each concept so the student is able to learn and be able to sing in his/her own unique style. My classes are focused on vocal training procedures, taal and laya training, understanding of sur, and pitch perfection.
