About Laia
I am a student graduated in Humanities (2012-2017, UPF) and I am currently finishing a master’s degree in training of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language, at the UB. I have been teaching as a private spanish teacher during this few years and I also have teach in some language institutes in Osijek (Croatia), Barcelona (Spain) and this next course... in Leeds (UK). I'm interested in the communicative education; I believe that language is a social tool to create bridges between cultures and the best way to learn a new language is to learn to express ourselves naturally. I believe that the practice of cognitive work and the use of games in the classroom (plus group work: even if it is only with the teacher) are the bases to learn to feel comfortable with the new language. I like to teach from literature (reading) and cinema (audivisuals, etc.).

Perfect! Laia is an extremely knowledgable, encouraging, enthusiastic, and patient tutor for both Spanish and Catalan. She has lots of great resources and solidly plans every lesson. Highly recommended!

When you meet an enthusiastic teacher you can feel it, and Laia is one of them. I also like the way she introduces culture into her Spanish lessons, so you can learn language and culture at the same time. Highly recommended!
