About Kevin

I’m an English teacher with 5 years' experience originally from the UK, with a background in creative writing and education. My journey brought me to India out of a desire to experience a new culture deeply and contribute meaningfully through teaching. Since arriving, I’ve worked closely with local schools and students, adapting my teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners. It's been challenging here because of the low English level of the primary school students but with perseverance and commitment I am seeing progress in my students now after 3 months teaching. Living and working in India has not only strengthened my teaching skills, but also deepened my understanding of cross-cultural communication, patience, and the value of community in education.

About the lesson

My teaching style is relaxed, student-centered, and communication-focused. I create a safe, encouraging space where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and building confidence.

I emphasize real-life English — the kind of language students actually use in conversations, daily situations, and travel. I don’t just teach rules; I help students understand how English works in context through guided speaking practice, simple grammar explanations, and regular vocabulary review.

Each lesson is customized. I assess students’ needs, goals, and learning pace, then design materials such as mini-dialogues, vocabulary tasks, and sentence-building exercises. I also use language translations for beginner learners to make grammar and sentence structure clearer.

I believe in consistency and progress tracking, but also keeping lessons enjoyable and practical. I often use real examples, daily-life scenarios, and personal interaction to make learning more memorable.

Whether it's improving spoken fluency, writing skills, or basic grammar, I focus on steady improvement, clear feedback, and respectful, positive support.

I honestly believe Kevin is a trustworthy teacher because we met on hello talk, (a language exchange app) where I was learning how to speak in english as I wasn't good at it. He gave me the confidence to speak in english and also corrected me everytime I made a mistake. He was very patient with me, even though I made a lot of mistakes. He's very helpful, you can ask him regarding anything and he'll help you out. He said it's okay to make mistakes as we later learn from our mistakes but what he wanted me to do the most was to at least try. I'm glad I've found a person like mister Kevin who taught me how to confidently speak in english. I still learning a lot from him. He's a very respectful teacher.

I knew nothing but the alphabet at the beginning and now I'm an English teacher!
Beside making the classes so fun(I was laughing most of the time we spoke ), he explains everything clearly and correctly.
The greatest achievement I've got with his help is not only passing my IELTS exam but it's the way I can communicate fluently like a native British speaker. Kevin is a blog writer, so he knows a massive bunch of idioms and phrases which are used in both daily conversations and formal writings.

I have known Kevin for 15yrs now. He has lived through much austerity and hardship. I have never heard him complain or be dishonest. In his actions towards anyone. He is extremely knowledgeable and does not let that change his view of anyone . He has been a supportive and welcome friend to me personally in my opinion he's the perfect teacher and friend . I am happy that he has decided to give his life up to teach others and is recommend him to anyone . Because he deserves the chance honest forthright and respectful selfless and trustworthy. Are words I associate with him . I am one of his closest friends .
