About Mathilde
I’m a French native speaker and have been using English and Spanish on a daily and professional basis for over 15 years. Working across different environments in both languages has given me a very practical understanding of how they are actually used, beyond textbooks or academic rules.
My focus is mainly on helping students feel more comfortable and natural when speaking. I prioritise clarity, confidence, and real communication, rather than overloading lessons with theory. I adapt each session to the person in front of me, depending on their level, goals, and areas they want to improve.
I’m used to working with both beginners who need structure and reassurance, and more advanced learners who want to refine their fluency, pronunciation, or professional expression.
I also try to keep lessons relaxed and enjoyable. Learning a language already takes effort, especially for busy people, so I make sure sessions stay engaging, with a good balance between structure and conversation. I like to use humour when appropriate and keep things human and easy-going, so students feel comfortable speaking without pressure. The idea is to make progress feel natural, not heavy or stressful.
The goal is simple: help you use the language more naturally and effectively in real situations, at your own pace and aligned with your goals.

My teaching approach is centered on practical communication, confidence, and natural language use. I focus on helping students speak more fluently and comfortably in real-life situations rather than relying only on textbook learning. Lessons are interactive and adapted to each student’s goals, whether that is improving conversation, preparing for professional contexts, or refining accuracy.
• Techniques and teaching methodology:
I use a communicative and conversation-based approach. Depending on the student’s level, we may work on structured speaking exercises, real-life scenarios, vocabulary building in context, pronunciation correction, and targeted feedback on grammar when needed. I also adapt materials to the student’s professional or personal interests to make learning more relevant and engaging.
• Typical length of a lesson:
A standard lesson is 60 minutes, which allows enough time for conversation practice, feedback, and structured learning. Shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s preference and objectives.
• Qualifications / experience:
I am a French native speaker and have been using English and Spanish in professional and everyday contexts for over 15 years. My experience with these languages in real working environments allows me to help learners develop practical, natural communication skills rather than purely academic knowledge.
• Who the lessons are for:
My lessons are suitable for teenagers and adults (16+), from beginner to advanced levels (A2–C2). I mainly work with learners who want to improve speaking fluency, confidence, and professional communication skills, whether for work, study, or travel.
