About Samuel
Hiya! I am a PPE student at Balliol College, Oxford, and I have a passion for German culture both old and modern! My family are from northern Bavaria, the town of Bayreuth (Wagner’s home town) and I have a broad interest from the humanities (literature, philosophy, theatre) to the sciences (all of my A-levels were STEM subjects). I love learning and I love teaching. My favourite philosophers are Spinoza and Kant, and my favourite author is Günter Grass.

Lessons will typically last for an hour, I will speak consistently in German (repeating myself in English where necessary) and we will do a mix of written and spoken exercises. I will recommend media at the end of lessons for the tutee to engage with (movies, poems, short stories) and then in the next lesson we will analyse that media.
I have tutored German before, with the tutee spending extended time in Germany afterwards. I have an A* in German A - Level and GCSE, and speak German on a daily basis. My lessons are for intermediate students who have completed a German GCSE or equivalent and want to improve their German.
