About Yohana
Hi, I’m Yohana — or Yo for short. I am a language enthusiast born and raised in Indonesia. I speak English daily and enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills while being part of my students’ journeys to success. In my free time, I love writing music, playing the guitar and keyboard, and publishing stories on digital novel platforms. I am passionate about learning about people and their backgrounds, and I maintain connections with friends from all around the world. Growing up in a non-English-speaking family, I had no exposure to an English-speaking environment. However, I became fluent in English through effective and enjoyable learning methods that I discovered over time. I believe the key to mastering a new language is to start with the learner’s interests. That’s why I always tailor my Indonesian and English lessons to each student’s hobbies, goals, and motivations, making the learning experience personal, engaging, and effective.

I use a conversational-based method to help students learn Indonesian naturally and confidently. All phrases and sentences I teach are commonly used in daily life, avoiding overly formal or stiff textbook language. I incorporate a variety of materials such as articles, videos, podcasts, and even comics to make lessons engaging and practical.
Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions, depending on your needs and preferences.
I have been an online tutor since 2018 and hold a Bachelor's degree in English Literature.
My lessons are designed for beginners to advanced learners, and I welcome students of all ages — from children to adults — whether you're learning for school, work, travel, or just for fun.
