About Mara
Hello there! So, I was actually born in the beautiful region of northern Italy, but let me tell you, my journey didn't just stop there. I traveled around the world, exploring new places and diverse cultures until I finally discovered my true home, right here in the stunning land of Aotearoa New Zealand. And guess what? I happen to be a chef by trade, specializing in those delightful Italian dishes. If you're ever in the mood for some proper Italian cuisine, I'm your go-to person! But you know what truly brings me joy? Sharing knowledge and assisting others in their quest to learn the language. When I first arrived here about 5 years ago, I didn't speak a word of English. I can totally sympathize with the struggles of being a beginner, and let me tell you, the best way to progress is to just start somewhere! Trust me, once you take that first step, it's smooth sailing from there on out!

I love teaching in a fun and engaging way! I enjoy sharing interesting facts about the culture to help my students gain a deeper understanding. Additionally, I find it fascinating to explore word etymology, as it creates a system that makes it easier for my students to memorize and progress rapidly.

Perfect! I have just started my lessons with Mara and I am so excited for my future classes. Mara is very calm and welcoming which is so helpful in such a vulnerable state when learning a brand new language. Even just my first lesson was already so structured, but not stressful.
