About Arthur
I grew up and lived in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, so Chinese has always been part of my everyday life, not just something I learned from books.
I started teaching because I saw how many learners felt intimidated by Mandarin and Cantonese or believed they were “bad at languages.” I enjoy breaking things down in a simple, encouraging way and helping students realize they can actually speak Chinese with confidence.
With over 5 years of teaching experience, I’m patient, practical, and genuinely invested in my students’ progress and success.

Many students tell me they’ve tried learning Chinese before but struggled to speak confidently or remember what they learned. As someone who grew up in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, I understand how different real spoken Mandarin and Cantonese are from textbooks.
My lessons focus on practical, everyday language you can actually use, with clear explanations that make Chinese feel logical and approachable. I have over 5 years of teaching experience and specialise in helping students progress quickly without feeling overwhelmed.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes and tailored for beginners, travellers, professionals, or anyone who wants to finally feel comfortable speaking Chinese.
