About Ali
I am a native Urdu speaker from Pakistan with a strong academic and university teaching background. As a PhD researcher at UNSW Sydney and a former university lecturer, I understand how to explain new ideas patiently and clearly. I enjoy teaching Urdu because it allows learners to connect with its culture, literature and everyday expressions. My aim is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable practising, making mistakes and gradually speaking with confidence.

My Urdu lessons are practical, friendly and tailored to each learner’s goals. I focus on everyday conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and writing, using simple explanations and real-life examples. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are suitable for complete beginners, heritage learners and anyone wishing to communicate confidently in Urdu.

Ali was my tutor for the ENGG1300 Engineering Mechanics workshops at UNSW. He explained difficult topics in a simple and practical way, especially free-body diagrams, equilibrium, moments and forces.
