About John
I am a teacher. I started my teaching carrer in 1988. I taught at high school grades 10-12 for 12 years. I was appointed school principal, subject adviser for P Science and ciruit manager. My academic qualifications are a teachers diploma (Science), higher education diploma (Science), B ed (training and development) Masters degree in commerce (leadership} masters degree in education (science instruction). Other qualifications are a programme of total qualty management (UNISA), Assessor and moderator (accredited by ETDP SETA). I my career I worked with both teachers and learners in science instruction.

I believe in constructivism - learner-centered instruction, which gives each learner the opportunity to explore and acquire learning content at their own pace and abilities. Ideally, the goal of increasing participation is not to have every student participate in the same way or at the same rate. Instead, it is to create an environment in which all participants have the opportunity to learn and in which the class explores issues and ideas in depth, from a variety of viewpoints. This methodology is used alongside scientific inquiry, prolem solving and manipulating (practical) skills.
