About Katie
I’m a secondary and FE/A level Biology teacher with over a decade of classroom experience, but I also work behind the scenes as an active examiner for AQA, Pearson, and OCR. I came into teaching because I genuinely love science, but I stay because I love the moment a concept finally clicks for a student who was previously ready to give up on it.
Biology at GCSE and A-Level gets a bad reputation for being a mountain of endless facts to memorise. My goal as a tutor is to take away that overwhelm. I teach because I want to show students that doing well in science isn't about having a photographic memory - it's about understanding core systems, mastering the exam technique, and knowing how to think like an examiner. Seeing my students build confidence, overhaul their grades, and realise they are entirely capable of tackling complex subjects is the best part of what I do.
