About Anna
I am currently studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Manchester. I have worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school and have tutored GCSE students, English and Maths for a year. I also worked as a Nanny for a 5-year-old helping them with school work and volunteered in Sri Lanka teaching the children basic English and Mathematic skills.

I teach up to A level Maths and like to use a student-centred approach to teaching, by finding out the learning style of the tutee and adapting my teaching method to this. I would first give the tutee a formative assessment to see where they are and then consolidate the problem areas. I will use past paper questions and other materials to go through how to solve the problems and allow the student to then do independent work. At the end of each session, I will give a plenary task for the tutee to complete and then determine the progress they’ve made in that session.
