About Ruta

I’m a CELTA-qualified English tutor with a BA in Business Management and Languages. I’ve always loved working with languages and helping others build confidence through communication. After teaching and supporting international students in various roles: including English lessons, tours and safeguarding — I realised how rewarding teaching could be.
My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and tailored to each learner’s individual goals, whether you want to improve conversation skills, exam preparation, or everyday English for work or travel. Having moved several times and lived in multilingual environments, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and create a space where students feel comfortable to make mistakes and grow.

About the lesson

My lessons follow a clear and communicative approach inspired by the CELTA methodology, meaning every session has a purpose and helps you use English confidently in real-life situations. I tailor each lesson to your goals, whether that’s improving conversation skills, preparing for an exam, or strengthening grammar and vocabulary.

A typical lesson includes:

- A short warm-up to get you speaking and relaxed

- Clear focus on one skill or language point (e.g., vocabulary for travel, a grammar point, or pronunciation practice)

- Guided practice, where we work through activities together

- Freer, more natural practice, such as discussion or task-based exercises

- Personalised feedback so you know exactly what to improve and how

However, no two students learn the same way.
If you're preparing for exams (IELTS, Cambridge, or school assessments) or if speaking is your primary focus, I tailor the structure entirely. This might mean more conversation-based work, targeted exam strategies, real-life role plays, or a focus on accuracy and confidence.

My goal is to create lessons that feel structured yet relaxed, so you can make steady progress. Every session is built around your needs, interests, and pace, so that learning stays both effective and enjoyable!
