Jinsol and I studied A-levels together. During a period when I was struggling with revision due to anxiety and feeling overwhelmed by the amount of content, she shared her own study strategies and helped me develop a revision approach tailored to my needs. For example, she helped me identify topics that contained a large amount of material or areas where I lacked confidence, and then break them down into manageable daily and weekly goals.

There were also moments when I felt discouraged. During these times, she regularly reminded me of the progress I had already made and helped me refocus on achievable goals. What helped me most was that she took the time to listen to what I was struggling with and understand the challenges I was facing. As a result, I was able to approach my exams with a clearer mindset and ultimately achieve the A-level results I had been aiming for.

In addition, I know Jinsol to be particularly skilled at listening to and supporting others. She is approachable, patient, and able to communicate in a way that makes people feel understood rather than judged. These qualities would be highly beneficial in her role as a GCSE/A-level tutor, as many students require not only academic guidance but also reassurance and support when facing academic pressure.

Based on my experience, I believe Jinsol would be an excellent tutor, as she is both academically capable and genuinely committed to supporting her students.

I first met Jinsol during university, and we often studied together before important exams. One moment that really stands out to me was when I was struggling to identify the different amino acids within a large, complex molecule. Jinsol took the time to walk me through it step by step, showing me how to recognise the key features of each amino acid and approach the problem systematically. What initially seemed overwhelming became much more manageable after her explanation. By the end of the session, I felt far more confident in my understanding and performed much better than I had expected.

What makes Jinsol a great tutor is her patience and ability to adapt explanations to each student’s needs. She genuinely cares about whether her students understand the material and never makes them feel embarrassed for asking questions. Her supportive teaching style, combined with her strong knowledge of the subject, creates an encouraging learning environment.
