About Jean Pierre

Hello, My name is Jean Pierre and I’m a musician from Chile. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2011, and I’ve been working as a full-time guitar instructor and music teacher for more than 20 years. I was trained in Classical Guitar, but for many years I've been teaching a wide gamut of styles, ranging from pop acoustic songs, Blues, Rock and Metal, all the way to South-American traditional songs. I’ve also taught classical guitar repertoire and contemporary concert music. - Bachelor of music in Film-scoring from Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA) - 15+ years of teaching experience (Chile, USA, France) - Directed my own music school - The Rock Institute (Boston, USA) - Performed several venues - Composer and orchestrator for productions, films and video-games. About the lesson

- All levels welcome - especially beginners - Lessons adapted to the student's needs and interests - basic foundations addressed first (rhythm and coordination, song structure, listening and motivation) - Technical development based on the style chosen by the student - Picking technique and fingerpicking - Music theory, analysis and composition depending on the student's demand I enjoy teaching and I’m very patient. One of my biggest goals when it comes to instruction is to help the student create a strong bond with the instrument; therefore, I shape my instruction and our work to the student's needs and interests.

Perfect! What I find most striking about Jean Pierre is that he seems to always genuinely enjoy playing and transmitting his knowledge to others. I think I would have given up playing by now if it was not for his positive energy. I never feel pressured to practice but I often want to! His knowledge of different playing styles and genres is also great, as it allows me to discover what kind of guitar player I want to be!

He is passionate about it, he loves explaining and he doesn't rest until he is completely sure that you understood.
