About Talia
I am an enthusiastic Guitar tutor with over 5 years of experience teaching college students. My goal is to help students learn guitar in a simple, creative, and effective way.
My teaching style is adaptive and interactive. I understand that college students have different schedules and learning styles. I design lessons that are well-planned, flexible, and focused on real improvement.
I use innovative methods like song-based learning, structured warm-ups, and practical technique exercises. Students learn popular and meaningful songs while improving chord accuracy, rhythm, and finger strength. I also use backing tracks to help students develop timing and confidence.
Music theory is taught in a very simple and practical way. Students learn how theory connects directly to the guitar. I also encourage creative activities like improvisation and basic songwriting to improve musical thinking.
I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I believe mistakes are part of learning, and I guide students patiently. My aim is to help college students become confident guitar players who enjoy practising and expressing themselves through music.

My teaching methodology for Guitar combines creativity, critical thinking, mentorship, and accountability. I encourage students to explore their musical ideas, improvise, and develop their own style while learning technical skills in a practical way.
Critical thinking is emphasised in my lessons. I guide students to understand music theory, chord progressions, and rhythm patterns so they can think independently, learn new songs efficiently, and even compose their own music.
I focus on accountability by helping students set goals, maintain consistent practice routines, and reflect on progress. Positive reinforcement and regular feedback keep students motivated and confident.
In addition to Guitar, I teach music theory, songwriting, ear training, and performance techniques. Lessons are flexible and customised to each student’s interests, ensuring learning is engaging and effective.
Through this approach, I aim to mentor students to become confident, creative, and independent musicians who can enjoy and express themselves through music.
