About Behnam
I’m Ben — an experienced English tutor who helps international students build the language, exam technique, and confidence they need to succeed. I teach online to learners in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and beyond, specializing in IELTS, Academic English, essay writing, and presentation skills.
My lessons are practical, structured, and personalized. I break down writing tasks into clear steps—planning, paragraphing, cohesion, and academic vocabulary—so students learn to produce polished essays under time pressure. For speaking, I focus on fluency, pronunciation, and response strategy so candidates perform naturally and confidently in Parts 1–3. I also cover listening and reading strategies, critical thinking for essays, and how to adapt tone and register for academic contexts.
I draw on classroom-tested methods and real exam materials, giving targeted feedback, model answers, and practice that maps directly to assessment criteria. Lessons are calm, focused, and supportive: I meet each student where they are, set clear goals, and track progress with actionable notes.
I hold a BA from the University of Leeds and Master's degree from Shiraz University Teaching English as a foreign language and bring 10 years of international tutoring experience to every session.
