About Sam

I have studied for both an undergraduate and postgraduate degree at the University of Oxford. Having taught children in a variety of different fields, including Maths, English, and Music, I have honed a highly effective technique based on combining the results of exam analysis with gamified methods and individualised teaching in order to deliver engaging lessons which are backed by research and deliver fast results for every child.

About the lesson

I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor who specialises in helping children to quickly improve in standardised testing. I distil the results of years of experience analysing past paper questions and mark schemes into bite-size tips and tricks to help children succeed in exams. Knowing that 11+ tutoring can be boring for many children, I implement these techniques into fun games to keep children engaged and excited about learning, and weave my teaching in with the individual interests of each child. I also provide a detailed report of every session to help track progress and identify areas for improvement. Lessons can be given online or in-person. Timings are flexible and cater to the needs of the individual child.

This made her more able to figure out how to play her piano pieces. She really loved learning with him, and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn music theory.

Could not recommend Sam enough as a tutor! He managed to turn even the most daunting of my dissertation-related problems into easy, manageable tasks and worked incredibly hard to make sure I felt motivated and confident throughout our lessons. Despite picking a somewhat niche dissertation topic, Sam went above and beyond to ensure he had a firm grasp of the issues at hand so that we could have a fruitful discussion. If you ever feel lost or stuck with a dissertation, Sam will be an absolute lifesaver.
