About Dorothea
I’ve not always found school easy, partly due to being dyslexic, however over sixthform and beyond I really fell in love with my subjects. Structuring a strong argument and essay is almost something I had to teach myself as it’s often put second to content (both in English and History) at school. It’s these techniques and methods that I’ve really enjoyed passing onto my students, being able to translate that interesting class discussion into an insightful essay.
As it became time to consider University, I put everything into my Oxford application. I did every practice HAT there is and spent hours both on my personal statement and interview prep. All this work payed off and now that I have my place I can’t wait to help future students secure theirs too.

Hi, I’m Thea. I’m 18 and a History student at Oxford University.
I’ve been tutoring locally for the past two years mainly in GCSE Maths, English and History. However, now I’m at University, I’m looking for students to work with over zoom and offering University Application, including specific Oxbridge Application tutoring for History, as well as A-Level tutoring for both History and English.
For both GCSE and A-Level I will mostly work through essay writing and structure trusting my students to have the basic understanding of their periods/texts. I will go through the way to answer each specific question: where the marks lie, how to hit these points effectively and how to upgrade answers to reach the highest band.
For university applications I will start on personal statement prep providing in depth feedback as well as HAT prep. After I will provide interview practice and prep.
