About Isobel
Hi! My name is Isobel, and I’m a third-year Law student at university. I’ve always had a real passion for English, particularly reading and creative writing, and it’s something I’ve loved since I was a child.
I achieved a Grade 9 in both GCSE English Literature and English Language, followed by an A in A-Level English Literature, so I understand the hard work and exam technique needed to achieve strong results.
I want to tutor because I genuinely believe English can be an enjoyable subject, rather than something students simply have to get through. I’d love to help students discover their own confidence in English, whether that’s through improving their writing, understanding literature, preparing for exams or simply finding a way of learning that works for them.
I’m particularly interested in working with 11+ and GCSE students, but I’m also happy to tutor A-Level English Literature. My aim is to make lessons supportive, engaging and tailored to each student, while helping them reach their full potential.

My approach to tutoring is centred around making English feel less overwhelming and much more enjoyable. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons around their individual strengths, weaknesses and goals.
I mainly specialise in 11+ and GCSE English, helping students build confidence in areas such as reading comprehension, creative and analytical writing, essay structure, grammar and exam technique. I am also happy to tutor A-Level English and adapt lessons to suit the specific exam board and requirements.
Whether a student is looking to improve their grades, prepare for an upcoming exam, strengthen a particular area or simply become more confident in English, I will work with them at their own pace and tailor each lesson to what they need most.
