About Erika

I am currently a 6th grade teacher in the Peoria Unified School District and am finishing my bachelor’s degree in elementary and middle school education. As both a teacher and a parent of children in 4th and 7th grade, I understand how important it is for students to feel supported, encouraged, and confident while learning.

My background in child development helps me personalize lessons to each student’s learning style, strengths, and goals. I believe every child can succeed with patience, positive guidance, and engaging instruction. I work hard to create a welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building skills, and growing their confidence in English and academics.

About the lesson

I create engaging and supportive English lessons that help students strengthen their reading, grammar, writing, and speaking confidence. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s learning needs and goals.
A typical lesson includes interactive reading activities, grammar practice, vocabulary building, and conversation exercises designed to make learning enjoyable and stress-free. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes in a positive environment.
I work with children, teens, and beginner to intermediate English learners who want to improve their communication skills, reading comprehension, and overall confidence in English. My goal is to help every student feel successful, motivated, and proud of their progress.

Erika is one of the most patient and encouraging teachers I’ve met. She’s great at making kids feel comfortable and confident, especially when they’re struggling or feeling unsure about schoolwork. You can tell she genuinely cares about helping each student succeed and takes the time to understand how they learn best.

As a current 6th grade teacher and mom, she’s very understanding, supportive, and easy to work with. She explains things in a way that makes sense and creates a fun, positive learning environment. I would absolutely recommend her to any parent looking for a tutor who is kind, reliable, and truly invested in helping students grow.
