About Matt
A qualified teacher of 10 years currently working in post-16 education. Previously a Head of Year in a Sixth Form, I now lecture and course manage the 2nd year cohorts on Pearson's BTEC L3 Sport and Exercise Science course where I support the long-term development of my learners, whether it is for university through their UCAS process, finding apprenticeships or preparation for the wider world of work. I also lecture in higher education, with a specialism in Sport Psychology.

My respective approach will depend on the learner themselves and where they (and I) feel they need to develop first and foremost.
I will begin with some form of assessment such as a diagnostic where I can gauge the knowledge-base and skill-set at that stage. After the initial assessment, I will then make a plan for how I will proceed which I, in tandem with the learner's feedback, believe will help to prepare the individual for the respective objective on the horizon.
HE Specialism:

- Development of study skills and writing craft (Applicable to both coursework and exams at a Higher Education standard)
FE Specialism:
- BTEC L3 Sport and Exercise Science - Applied Sport Psychology (Exam format)
- BTEC L3 Sport - Sport Psychology (Coursework format)
- Development of study skills and writing craft (Applicable to both coursework and exams at a Further Education standard)
Career-Development:
- Support of UCAS application process through personal statement writing, research of appropriate courses etc
