About Adem
I am a graduate student of Queen Mary and Westfield College with a PhD in Mathematical Physics and an MSci from the University of London. I have more than 6 years at least 500 hours of documented tutoring experience (more than double than that unofficially) in a wide variety of capacities including: 1-to-1 tuition for private agencies, group study sessions, preparing and marking assignments and mentoring groups of students working on different projects. I have taught students from levels from primary school levels all the way to Postgraduate level
I have a great track record of getting students to reach their goals, some of my past successes include getting a student to pass a university entrance exam with distinction (despite the student being ranked at a D-grade previously and having less than two months of preparation) and getting a U-grade student in Mechanics up to a B (with just over a month of preparation time).
Additionally, I worked in Outreach during the time I was studying for my degree and my doctorate. During this time I took several different training courses in communication and education where I was taught several empirically proven methods of what actually makes a person learn better. As our job was to promote and make science as interesting and entertaining as possible, this meant that our communication skills and ability to educate needed to be top notch. These are skills that I have applied to tutoring with great results. As such I am very good at explaining complex ideas in easily an understood manner.
For a much more detailed description of my qualifications and experience, please refer to my attached CV

I teach levels from primary school level all the way to postgraduate level in Physics and from primary school to undergraduate level in Maths.
As a tutor my main philosophy has always been "Keep it Simple". Too often both teachers and texts fall apart, most often because either they skip crucial steps or they go the extra mile to show off how clever they are by making the explanations as elaborate and technical as possible, often alienating the students as a result.
Maths and Physics has a reputation for being extremely difficult, so why make things harder than neccessary? To that end the way I teach has a very specific structure: Problem, Need and Method. In other words we start off with a "Problem" that needs to be solved. We then see how what it is we're going to learn solves the problems and thus why we "Need" what it is we're learning. Finally we set about learning what it is we've introduced and see how it solves the problem i.e. the "Method".
I also make sure to test the student's understading by encouraging the student's participation using techniques such as: examples where the student is required to make contributions, thought experiments (in the case of Physics tuition), exercises to be completed and active revision techniques
