PhD Philosopher (Oxford BA) experienced in teaching Philosophy from GCSE to Degree level including Ethics, Logic, Epistemology, Metaphysics and all core Philosophy content

Great at fully explaining concepts and how to play with them - and will not move on until both he and student are confident of full understanding.

Our son has greatly benefited from his lessons with Marcus for the past few months. Marcus is engaging and strategic with lesson planning and delivery which enables him to meticulously hone in on any areas of concern. Our son finds him compassionate and responsive and has connected with him very well. We really hope all these lessons will help our son achieve his desired grade in the final Alevels Economics exam.

Marcus helped me with an introduction to logic university-level course. From the start he was kind and helpful, making sure to explain every aspect of a problem and ensure that I understood it. Not only did Marcus help me intellectually, but he also helped provide me with emotional support as I had low confidence in my studies. He reassured me that he could see that I was making progress and improving in my lessons, which was encouraging! I would highly recommend Marcus as a tutor because he is diligent, good at explaining things and a great support.

Great tutor, really helped explain concepts in an informative way and goes through problem sets with me in a thorough manner.

The lessons are always very interactive with great resources that help me stay engaged all the time. Marcus is very easy to talk to so I don’t hesitate to ask questions when I need to. He explains things in great detail but also clearly and concisely, which is why it’s so easy for me to understand. My confidence in philosophy and understanding the subject has increased immensely because his lessons constantly tick all the boxes so I would undoubtedly recommend!

Very good teacher. I have learnt a lot from Marcus and he has helped me improve my knowledge for the subject.

I am a foreign student studying in UK currently, and my major is Business Management. My English is not good which I found it difficult to prepare the revision for my upcoming test all by myself, so I asked helps from Marcus who has helped and supported me massively over the weeks for preparing my upcoming Uni test, mainly the maths and management. Let me share some experience with Marcus.

Marcus always comes to my lessons with huge passions, patience and he is incredibly knowledgeable. The passion is judged by how he has prepared for the lesson as well as how he organised the work that I've worked with him during the lesson and send it to me after each session. For the patience, because sometimes, I've got some language issues, Marcus would always break the difficult parts down and explain it to me, which is so helpful. His knowledge, it is like the reason that he has graduated from Oxbridge Uni.

I am still working on the revision with helps from Marcus, and I am sure I've found the right teacher. I am definitely looking forward to having more lessons or helps from Marcus.

I know Marcus through this site, where he taught me Philosophy A-Level.
He’s always professional, on-time, prepared with well-researched, high-quality notes on the relevant topics.
He’s very thorough with every lesson, and on top of that, sends summary notes accompanied by a wealth of additional information. Marcus has expertise knowledge in structuring and writing essays, which becomes immediately apparent, and has helped me a lot.
Marcus is very patient, understanding, and has the ability to explain very complex things in a simple and understandable way.
I would definitely recommend Marcus, as he has helped me enormously and continues to help me in this demanding subject.

Marcus is teaching me economics & I would recommend him as he has helped me a lot! He plans the lesson in advance and always ask if I need help or don’t understand and is always willing to re explain. I will be continuing my lessons.

For my BSc degree in economics I was struggling heavily with the econometrics course due to the high maths requirement. Thankfully, Marcus could help me out, he explained the maths behind econometrics very clearly and I passed the course.

I've known Marcus for years and regularly discussed many intellectual topics in philosophy, maths, econ, politics, you name it. He's not only very bright but very clear and empathetic. He always makes sure he knows what I understand and knows how to match his explanations to me. I think this is a rare skill, although many people think they have it, few do. He's also just a great and very helpful guy to talk to.
