About Craig
While my primary work over the years has been in academia and industry, tutoring has always been a passion for me. My in-depth experience in physics allows me to bring many real-world examples to my lessons and to provide multiple perspectives for approaching each topic, something that comes naturally when you have spent years applying these ideas in research and professional settings.

I am a PhD-qualified scientist and educator with over 15 years of experience of teaching in physics and maths (with a specialism in acoustics) with a genuine passion for making complex ideas click. I completed my PhD and Master’s at the University of Texas at Austin, where I also cut my teeth as a teaching assistant and private tutor before building a research career at the University of Southampton.
What drives me as a tutor is seeing the moment a student shifts from confusion to confidence. I’ve spent my career explaining difficult scientific and mathematical concepts to everyone from GCSE students to postgraduate researchers and industry professionals and I’ve learned that the key is always the same: patience, clarity, and meeting the student where they are.
I tailor every session to the individual. Whether you’re working to pass your GCSEs, aiming for top A-Level grades, or preparing for a university entrance exam, I’ll build sessions around your specific gaps, learning style, and goals. I’m equally comfortable working through past papers, derivations, or conceptual problem-solving.

Dr. Craig and I attended graduate school together and co-tutored in physics and calculus. He is incredibly patient and has an excellent talent at identifying and correcting the core concepts students are misunderstanding. I highly recommend him to help with your studies!
