About Stanley
I am a PhD student at Cardiff University with a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences, MRes in Biosciences and experience supporting students at different stages of their education. I enjoy helping students develop confidence and clarity through structured explanations and a supportive approach. My motivation for tutoring comes from seeing students improve their understanding, strengthen their exam performance and approach assessments with greater confidence. I aim to provide a calm, professional learning environment where students feel supported in working towards their academic goals.

My lessons are tailored to GCSE and A-level Biology students who want clear explanations, strong exam technique and improved confidence. Having achieved A*A*A* grades in A-level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, I have a strong understanding of exam expectations and common student difficulties. I focus on building secure understanding of key concepts rather than rote memorisation, using structured explanations, guided questions and exam-style practice. My sessions are typically 60 minutes and adapted to each student’s level, learning style and target grade or exam goals. As a PhD researcher with formal training in student-centred teaching, I emphasise supportive learning, steady progress and clear outcomes over time.
