About Samantha
Hi! My name is Samantha Johnson, and I am a recent Biology graduate from the City College of New York and an incoming Physician Associate (PA) student. Throughout college, I balanced rigorous academics with extensive leadership, research, healthcare, mentoring, athletic, and musical commitments. I graduated with honors, earned recognition on the Dean's List and President's List, and served as a Resident Advisor, Peer Mentor through the S. Jay Levy Fellowship, STEM mentor, President of the CCAPP Division of Science organization, RHA liaison, and student representative for multiple campus initiatives. I was awarded several scholarships, including the Rudin Family Foundation Scholarship and the Bernard H. Weltman Scholarship, and became a published author while conducting scientific research and presenting academic work. In healthcare, I gained clinical experience as a medical assistant, medical interpreter, hospital volunteer, and healthcare provider shadowing student, accumulating hundreds of hours of patient-care experience before earning admission to a competitive Physician Associate program at just 21 years old. Outside the classroom, I competed as a track and field athlete, represented student-athletes through SAAC, played the flute for over a decade, participated in Girl Scouts for 10 years, and remained actively involved in service and mentorship. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, communication, organization, and teaching abilities. As a tutor, I bring the same dedication and work ethic that helped me excel academically and professionally, and I am passionate about helping middle and high school students build confidence, improve grades, develop effective study habits, and reach their full potential.

As a future Physician Associate student with a background in Biology, I focus on helping middle and high school students build confidence, strengthen study skills, and truly understand concepts rather than memorize them. My lessons are personalized to each student's needs and typically include concept review, guided practice, homework support, and test-preparation strategies. I create a supportive, encouraging environment that helps students improve academically while developing independent learning skills. I tutor middle and high school students in science, biology, study skills, organization, and general academic support.
