About Medha
Hello! I am a Physics and Economics double major. I fluently speak Creole, French and Hindi. I have been a French teaching Assistant for 2 years. After getting recommended by my professors, I have also started working as a French and Physics tutor for a year. Apart from academics, I love getting to know people and visiting new places, trying out new food and buying clothes!

As a college student, I have been working closely with the professors themselves so I have learnt their method of teaching for both French and Physics.
For French, I usually emphasize on strengthening the bases in the beginning (verb tenses and conjugation, sentence construction, vocabulary, etc) and then add more complicated material little by little. I start my lessons with a recap of the previous one and end a lesson with a recap of what we just learned. I also like giving numerous examples to students e.g one exercise I like is to write a simple sentence in English and then ask the student to write it in French and show me the subject, the verb, why the verb is conjugated that way and then try turning the sentence in a question, etc. For advanced-level students, I usually ask them to make more complicated sentenced with advanced verbs and I try involving a lot of french conversation during the lesson since they have a pretty good knowledge of the language. Also, there are numerous french books, cartoons and shows that I recommend to my students. As a test, I like watching a simple french show with students and ask them what the characters said or write down a line which was told in the show.
For Physics, formulas and laws are essential; I make sure that the student repeats those little by little until they know the material by heart. I like taking a simple problem, showing the student how to work through it, let him do a similar one on his own and then move on to more complicated problems. Recaps are done at the start and end of each lesson. I also like using online videos to show the student how things work. I use the same method for Math as well.
I have been giving lessons to college as well as high school students. I have also volunteered as a teacher for children aged 5-10 years also. Apart from just giving lessons, I also like keeping a good and friendly relationship with my students so that they feel at ease to tell me what their problems are whether it is with what we are learning or not. All the people that I have worked with consider me as a really good friend but they know that during lesson time, things will be serious.
