About Shobhit Saheb
I am a physics major at IIT Kharagpur with experience of working with various research groups in college. Since my 1st year, I have been working on robotics and electronics with a research group AGV and participating in national and international competitions. In my second year, I focused on control systems(from the perspective of Self-Driving cars) and later on I worked on integrating Machine Learning in physics to understand complex systems in the research group StatFluid lab. I spent most of my 3rd year gaining a grasp on the core and most fundamental tools in physics along with working on Bose-Einstein Condensates from a computational perspective. In my 3rd year, I also started exploring the area of photonics from a quantum communication and computation perspective.

In the winter vacation of my 2nd year, I taught control systems and Robot Operating System to around 80 students from 1st and 2nd year in a workshop. In the workshop before deciding the topics or the methodology I first decided a problem state for the project that the students will work on after the completion of the workshop. And I taught all the topics with the methodology and depth specific to the problem statement and the similar ones that they would like to take up in future. I find this way of designing a project-oriented methodology very useful and it enhances the learning of my own batch whenever a faculty takes this approach.
