About Serge
My motivation to tutor is to positively impact the lives of young students. This motivation stems from my time as an A-level student where I had a teacher that inspired me to put my full energy into school which ultimately led my achieving a PhD in chemistry. I would relish the opportunity to empower students and give them the belief to fulfil their potential.
Teaching science is exciting to me because it often involves abstract concepts that are difficult to grasp. Explaining the same concept in a variety of ways is really fun, and it is extremely fulfilling when a student understands an idea.
I offer highly tailored sessions, focusing on the most challenging areas for students. My teaching style is to break down complex ideas into manageable chunks, and working upwards to understand the bigger picture which I always do this in an interactive and engaging way. This is supplemented with exam questions where the concepts that have been learned are applied.
