About Coleton
My name is Coleton Carnegie and I have been playing the piano for eleven years. I have one year of teaching experience and am able to work with students of all ages and abilities. My main genre is classical but I can teach baroque, romantic, impressionist, and contemporary. I am knowledgeable in many aspects of musicianship including theory, composition, performance, conducting, and even had a brief stint as a piano technician apprentice.

My approach as a teacher is to keep things simple. Like Einstein said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it". I make sure my students are pushing themselves to improve with a consistent practice schedule that is also reasonable. I strive to keep the lessons positive and focus on good communication. It's essential for students to understand what they are doing well and also what they can improve upon.
