About Francesca
I am a Political science student but I have an interest in teaching English for GCSE levels and below. Despite studying politics, I am keen to become an English teacher after I obtain my degree. I have a passion for teaching and would love to aid students in passing their exams. I attended a state school until GCSE's, and then moved to a grammar school where I achieved an A in English literature, A* in Media studies and a B in politics.

My teaching method is strictly against spoon feeding students. Through tutoring sessions, I hope to spark enthusiasm and passion back into my students. My methods vary depending on the student, as all are individuals, but in a broad sense, I structure the sessions based on varying revision techniques. For instance, some students benefit more from copying text from a book, in which case I will create a powerpoint and imitate a lecture personalised to their course. Or, if the student is more of a rhythmic learner, we can write poems and create songs which will help them memorise their course content. For the second part of the session, I will focus on past paper exam questions. This, I believe, to be the most vital of techniques to help students succeed. Not only are past questions a good way to introduce question styles and course content, but this will also give us a chance to perfect the students essay writing technique.
