About Adil
I hold a Master of Information Technology from the University of Queensland and I’m fully fluent in both English and Mandarin. I communicate clearly, confidently, and without a strong accent, which means I can explain concepts in a way that students — especially beginners and younger learners — immediately understand. I take professionalism seriously, I have more than 1-year of experience coaching chess in Brisbane, I prepare for every lesson, and I make sure each student feels supported, encouraged, and able to learn at their own pace. My goal is to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and confident in their progress.

How I Teach:
My style is straightforward: clear explanations, structured progress, and zero time-wasting. I break topics into small, understandable steps, then build up difficulty once the student is confident. For kids, I keep lessons interactive with games, challenges, and mini goals so they stay focused and enjoy learning. For older students, I use a more analytical approach with examples, practice tasks, and specific feedback.
Whether it’s chess or Mandarin, every lesson has:
1. A quick review to check understanding
2. A focused topic (opening principle, tactic, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc.)
3. Guided practice so you learn by doing
4. A short activity/game to apply the skill
5. Clear next steps so you know exactly what to practice before the next lesson
No random worksheets, no filler — I teach for real improvement, not busywork.
Typical Lesson Length:
Standard lesson: 60 minutes
Kids (younger beginners): 45–60 minutes depending on attention span
Trial lesson: 30 minutes
I keep lessons long enough for real progress but short enough for full focus.

3. 1+ year of chess coaching experience (school programs, private lessons, group classes)
