About Lexi
Hi, I’m Lexi Powers! I am a recent biomedical science graduate from Oakland University with a strong passion for teaching. I have over 5 years experience teaching math to students kindergarten-college both in person and online, as well as teaching experience in anatomy at Oakland University. I can proudly say that I have helped students who were falling behind in their class catch up quickly and even become advanced!
My goal is to empower students and help them build the confidence in their own skills so that learning becomes more of an enjoyable experience instead of a hindrance. In my experience, a student learns best after seeing how to approach a problem, completing a few together, and then finally doing some problems themselves. I look for gaps in any foundational math knowledge and fill those in before moving forward to ensure the student has full understanding of what they are doing. I enjoy teaching math and strive to cultivate a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions
