About Chloe

Hi there! My name is Chloe and I am currently a Psychology student in University. Though in my spare time, I love to practice speaking Japanese, cook vegan dishes and walk my dog!

I myself am learning Japanese, so I can understand the difficulty of learning a new language, and having a patient tutor can help! That is where I can help..!

My passion for English tutoring comes from my experience in Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in a program called the JET program. I loved this program so much as I loved to help the students and see their improvement through the school year as their confidence continued to build and their English skills become stronger. Once I finish my current university degree, I would love to go back to Japan and teach my own class this time in the same school in Tokyo!

I am a big people-person and love to inspire people to do their best. I encourage mistakes from my students, as that is how we learn best. So if you are ready to make mistakes while trying your best, and learn lots while having fun along the way, please join my lessons. I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

I teach my students through a combination of free conversation and structured lessons focusing on grammar and vocabulary.

I can also re-structure my lessons to focus more on reading and writing as well, or to use EILTs / TOEFL materials if you have a goal to pass in mind! I love to be goal-focused with my students and create lessons around your goal.

My personal qualifications include teaching English as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan, Tokyo from 2020-2022. I am also an English major who graduated in 2019. I have years of experience with free conversation and English tutoring on Cambly (for English as a Second language) and on Cluey (tutoring high school students English in Australia).

Lastly, I am currently undergoing my 120 hours to complete a TESOL/TEFL course so I can better help my students, as I am very passionate about being the most helpful tutorI can be!

My lessons are for a broad range of ages, but are best suited for those 15 years old and above.
