I am quite flexible and I always try to adapt my lessons to my students' needs and preferences. My focus is on communication and accuracy. I am experienced in teaching reading and writing in English to native Spanish speakers. I like to cover the four basic skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) in my lessons. I like to start my classes with a small chat with the student so they feel more comfortable and "on task". Then I like to engage them in a certain topic that we have to cover by asking questions, watching a video, talking about previous experiences, etc. After that I always like to do a reading with my students because I believe that this improves their reading fluency & accuracy and it also enhances vocabulary learning. I also like to a small spelling test (words, making sentences or even writing a short statement) at the end of each class (it depends on the age and needs).
