About Kelly M

About me: I am a mother of three children and a qualified primary school teacher. I tutor a variety of students of a variety of ages, from children aged 4 to GCSE level students at local tuition centres. I live in Wolverhampton. Qualifications: I have a 2:1 degree in English from the University of Wolverhampton and a Masters level PGCE from the University of Birmingham with QTS and a science specialism. I have a 2:1 degree in Drama and Theatre Studies which makes me an ideal candidate to tackle those GCSE Shakespeare plays! GCSE English: I teach GCSE English at tuition centres in the West Midlands. Some students come to me having received grades 2 or 3 at mocks in year 10 and every one of my students has passed thus far. SEN: I’ve attended a three-day training programme in Preston with Right2Write for teaching children and adults with dyslexia. I have attended many training days on Autism, EAL, Safeguarding and SEN. Tutoring: I arrange the session at your home and at time to suit you or I teach in a local library close to your home. Whichever is best for you! About the lesson

I deliver lessons specifically tailored to suit individual needs and learning requirements. Primary sessions: After assessing the child and viewing their school reports or targets, I identify gaps in their learning and/or working towards a specific goal. GCSE English sessions: working on subject knowledge and past papers. I walkthrough each exam paper, question by question and I share examiners' mark schemes and model answers with the student and teach how to write a level 8/9 answer. I set homework upon request. School homework help: If required. Included in the session. 1 hour sessions. I provide all learning equipment, printouts and writing materials. Detailed feedback after each session either verbally or via text/email. All learning difficulties catered for.
