About Chanel

I’m a qualified primary school teacher with 15 years of classroom experience, offering friendly, personalised one-to-one tuition for children aged 4–7.

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve supported children with a wide range of abilities and learning needs. I believe children make the best progress when they feel confident, supported and able to understand what they are learning.

My approach is warm, encouraging and child-centred. I take time to understand each child as an individual and tailor sessions to their current level, interests and learning goals.

I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an enhanced DBS check.

I offer tuition for children in Reception and KS1, as well as 4+ preparation and early literacy and numeracy support.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is personalised, supportive, practical and hands-on, with a focus on building secure foundations. With 15 years of classroom experience, I understand that young children learn in different ways and at different rates, so I adapt each lesson to the individual child rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

I use a mixture of practical activities, discussion, games, questioning, visual resources and carefully chosen written tasks to help children understand new concepts and apply their learning. For younger children especially, hands-on learning can make abstract ideas easier to understand and more memorable.

Before introducing new learning, I identify what your child already knows and where they may need further support. This allows me to build on their strengths and address any gaps in understanding at the right pace.

A typical lesson may include:

*Review & celebrate

My aim is for children to understand, not simply complete a worksheet. I want them to feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, trying again and recognise their own progress.

I offer support with phonics, reading, writing, primary maths and early years/4+ preparation. Sessions are tailored to children in Reception and KS1, as well as home-educated children who would benefit from additional one-to-one teaching.

Session & Booking Information
I offer flexible weekly tuition, with sessions available once, twice or three times per week, depending on your child’s needs.

In-person: SW London
Online: Available
️ Daytime sessions: Available for home-educated children and nursery aged children preparing for the 4+ assessment.

30-minute online phonics sessions are available.

Please get in touch to discuss your child’s needs and availability. I offer a 15-30-minute complimentary consultation.
