About Nathaniel

I am a student with a strong passion for psychology and spreading this feeling for younger students. I am confident in my skills and in my ability to portray information to younger students who are in need of support.

Being a student myself, I'd be relatable and understanding to those I teach. I hope to make my subjects enjoyable to those who are in need of help.

I am currently finishing my BSc degree, and have received an offer from Cardiff University to study MSc child psychiatric disorders.

Psychology is heavily reliant on maths and biochemistry skills to analyse data and neurochemical activity. It also allows me to understand how to correctly engage with students to make my teaching as effective as possible.

The lesson structure will be flexible to cater to individual student needs but the basic template will be as follows:

- A conversation with the student about what they want to work on - a specific skill or topic.

- Engaging in fully worked examples on this topic and a full explanation of topics with diagrammatic reasoning for visual learners.

-Giving the student an example to do independently, giving past paper questions and asking them to explain the theory to me in their own words.

-Check through their work, outlining areas for improvement in layout, efficiency and managing difficult concepts in chunks which is proven to be more effective as a learning technique.

Learning is not about the answers - I don't mind if you get things wrong, in fact, I encourage it, so you have the potential to improve. I want to take my time for you to gain understanding.
